About Web Parts

Web parts provide an integrated set of controls that enable you to personalize the My IQ page content and layout. In addition, you can remove web parts that you don't use, hide those you use occasionally or minimize them like windows. When you modify pages and controls, the settings can be saved to retain your personal preferences for each IQ login session and your settings can also be shared with other IQ users.

The list of available IQ web parts is displayed when you click Add WebPart from Catalog on the My IQ page. Simply click and drag the web part to place it at the top or bottom of the My IQ page or in one of the columns. Note: You can change the number of columns by clicking in the # of Columns field (located at the top of the catalog) and selecting 1, 2 or 3. Most web parts can be added multiple times to the My IQ page. For example, a user might use the Web Page web part more than once with each one configured to display a different web site.  All web parts that are already in use are displayed with an asterisk to help prevent users from inadvertently creating duplicates. Web parts that can only be added once to your My IQ page include:  My Links, My Mail, My Open Workflow, My Outlook Inbox and Weather.com. Once these single-use web parts have been used, they no longer appear in your catalog of web parts until you remove the web part from your My IQ page.

The following web parts are available: Announcements, Board Members, Calendar, Dashboard, Document Directory, History, Imagine Link, My Links, My Mail, My Open Workflow, My Outlook Inbox, My Schedule, My Work, People Search, Recent People, Mail and Workflow , Recent Searches, RSS Feed, Today's News, Top Issues and Workflow Types, Web Capture, Web Page, and Web Searches. Note: If Disable Web-Hosted Content is selected in your IQ System Configuration Settings, then Today's News, Web Capture, and Web Searches will not be available for selection in the web part catalog.

Announcements

This web part is typically used to provide information that an office wishes to disseminate to all staff members. Setting a defined height or width for this web part, will force vertical and/or horizontal scroll bars when all of the announcement information cannot be displayed in the space allotted.

Board Members

This web part is available if you have access to the Board module. It provides the ability to search members for all boards or to limit searches to a specific board by selecting a search option in the Board field. Click in the View field to limit the search to Current Members, Non-Current Members, Expired Terms,  Expires within 14 Days or Expires within 30 Days. Information displayed includes Member ID, Board Name, Member Name, Seat, Status, Term Begins and Term Ends.

Calendar

Simple calendar tool that allows you to view a calendar for the month. This calendar is not integrated with the IQ Events module.

Dashboard

This web part is only available if your IQ user ID has been granted access to Security Lock # 338. Select an IQ Dashboard to display in the My IQ page.  Note that many of the pre-configured dashboards are designed to take up most of the page, so this may create issues with achieving a satisfactory layout when the page is arranged in two or three columns.  If you prefer the two or three column page layout, you may want to select dashboards that show information in a single graph instead of the multi-faceted dashboards.

If you do choose, however, to display one of the larger dashboards on the My IQ page, consider placing it in the header or footer and setting the Chrome State to Minimized.  This will allow the information to be accessed by expanding the web part (using the Restore action on each web part), so that it doesn't take up most of the My IQ page.

Document Directory

Provides quick and easy access to the IQ Documents Directory.

History

This web part provides a chronological listing of searches you have performed and records you have accessed while working in Intranet Quorum over the past ten days. Click the More... link to access the History Log, which displays the complete list, up to 1,000 entries.

Image Link

The Image link web part allows you to insert an image into the My IQ page that functions as a link to an external web site.  For example, the Presidential seal may be inserted as an image link that will launch the White House web site in a separate window when clicked.

My Links

You can store Quick and Advanced searches for the IQ modules using the Save Search action in the upper right corner of the Search Results pages through out IQ.  Other information (such as URL addresses of web sites that you would like to access from the My IQ page) may also be added and managed using the My Links sub-menu in the My IQ module. Note: My Links can be copied from one IQ user to multiple IQ users by your IQ System Administrator.

My Mail

This web part displays all of your pending mail in the standard IQ search results layout. Actions are available in the popup menu that is located in the upper left corner and include Edit, Select All, Clear All, View Selected, Print and Refresh.

My Open Workflow

This web part displays all of your open workflow in the standard IQ search results layout. Actions are available in the popup menu that is located in the upper left corner and include Edit, Select All, Clear All, View Selected, Print and Refresh.

My Outlook Inbox

Allows you to access your Outlook Inbox from within IQ and sort, open, forward and reply to e-mail messages.  This web part does not, however, allow you to create a new e-mail message. It is truly just the Inbox and not a full email client.

Note: This requires a locally configured Outlook client.  The inbox is displayed using the configuration setting in the Outlook client.  Uses the Current View settings from the locally configured Outlook -- unread messages only, group by message thread, etc.  Click column headings to modify the display.  Column headings will condense when you narrow the width of the web part.

My Schedule

This web part displays a monthly calendar (to change the date) and your IQ schedule (or other selected calendar) for the current date. This web part can be added multiple times for users with access to more than one schedule.  So, for example, you might add one entitled ”Member’s Schedule” and one entitled ”My Schedule.”  In addition, you can configure each occurrence of this web part to display Monthly Calendar, Ending Time, Approved Events Only, Short Description and Name in Title Bar. Note: If you choose to not display the Monthly Calendar, IQ will display a field for you to enter a date or select one from the calendar lookup.

My Work

This web part provides the ability to select which type of IQ records will be displayed in this web part. Setting the number of columns displayed allows additional flexibility in sizing the web part to fit the overall layout of the page.  Additionally, users can choose to show only those My Work links that currently report a count greater than zero. This provides a more streamlined list of actual assignments without unnecessary information.

People Search

Provides a drop-down for searching for People records by Person, Name or List. The default is Person, which is a "type ahead" search that displays a drop-down list of possible matches as you type the name, address, email address or phone number. Select Name if you want to search using a first last format (i.e. John Smith).  Select List if you want to view the People records in an existing People List. Press the ENTER key or click the GO button to go to the Search Results page for the Person, Name or List search. Note: IQ will remember which search type (Person, Name or List) you selected in this web part and will retain it as your "default" until you change it.

Recent People, Mail and Workflow

This web part is similar to the History web part in that it displays a chronological listing of records you have accessed while working in Intranet Quorum over the past ten days, but unlike History, this web part does not include a list of recent searches. It does offer, however, greater control over the types of recent records that are displayed.

Recent Searches

This web part provides a chronological listing of searches you have performed while working in Intranet Quorum over the past ten days. You can select which types of searches you would like to appear in this web part.

RSS Feed

Allows a user to receive information via an existing or custom configured RSS feed.  You can view existing feeds that you may already have saved by clicking the Favorites icon in Internet Explorer 7. More than one RSS feed web part can be configured for your My IQ page.

Today’s News

This web part displays the current news headlines from the sources listed in a shared config file for your IQ System.  Use the RSS Feed web part, if you would like to select your own sources. Note: The Today's News web part is not available if Disable Web-Hosted Content is selected in your IQ System Configuration Settings.

Top Issues and Workflow Types

This section of the My IQ page displays the number of mail records to which the issue code was assigned during a specified period of time.  The mail count includes pending and completed mail with any status code. The numbers shown for workflow types indicate the number of workflow records created using the template shown.  The time period used to calculate the top mail issues and workflow types can be configured. You can also choose to display just Top Issues, Workflow Types or Both.

Web Capture

Allows you to capture information in a specific element of an external web page &endash; for example, a stock ticker or calendar of events.  This web part is not compatible with all web page structures.  A certain amount of trial and error should be anticipated when setting up web capture. Note: This web part is not available if Disable Web-Hosted Content is selected in your IQ System Configuration Settings.

Web Page

Allows an external web page to be displayed in a frame as part of the My IQ page.  It is highly recommended that this web part be configured in either the header or the footer to allow the maximum width of the page to be used without disrupting the layout of the rest of the page.  Likewise, it is recommended that the default Chrome State is set to Minimized.  This will allow easy access to external content without overwhelming the rest of the My IQ page.

Web Searches

Allows you to add common web searches to the My IQ page.  You may select one or more of the following searches: AOL, Ask.com, Google, Google News, Live.com, Lycos, USA.gov, House.gov, Senate.gov and Yahoo.  Web Searches may be added multiple times and each instance may be configured individually.  So, for example, you might add a Google News search to the header, and also add a House.gov search to one of the columns in the My IQ page. Note: This web part is not available if Disable Web-Hosted Content is selected in your IQ System Configuration Settings.
