Issue Tally

IQ provides the ability to quickly and easily track the position of multiple issues from phone calls or surveys and keep a daily tally without recording names and addresses. Issue Tally is used in conjunction with issue codes that have positions of .P, .C and .N for Pro, Con and Neutral (PCN). Contact your IT Consultant for assistance with the setup of your PCN Issue Codes.

To launch issue tally:

  1. Click the My IQ tab and select the Issue Tally action;

OR

Click the People tab and click the Sets submenu link. Select the Issue Tally action.

Note: The Issue Tally action does not appear if your IQ user-id has not been granted access to Security Lock #32 (Create Mail).

  1. The Issue Tally dialog appears with the default number of Issue Code lines. You can change your default in user Preferences.

  2. Type the code or codes you want to track in the Issue field(s) or click the lookup icon to select from a list of available issue codes with positions.

  3. For each issue selected, enter the number of Pro, Con or Neutral positions. Click the up arrow to increase the tally by one. Click the down arrow to decrease the tally by one.

  4. Click the Save button to save the current tally sheet and open a new one. IQ creates a completed Mail record with an Incoming Method of Opinion, the selected position codes and their tallies. The Mail record is stored in the Anonymous People record along with anonymous opinions entered in Opinion Tracking.

  5. Click the Close button and select Cancel to close the Issue Tally dialog without saving any data. Note: If you accidentally click the Close button, you can select OK to save the current data without launching a new tally sheet.

IQ stores data entered in the Issue Tally dialog in a temporary table until you save it. This prevents data loss in the event that your workstation loses power or you close the Issue Tally dialog without using the Save or Close buttons. The next time you launch Issue Tally, the message "An old issue tally exists. Please review and either Save or Discard." will appear along with the unsaved data. Click the Save button to save the data and open a new tally sheet. Click the Discard button to remove the data from the temporary table and open a new tally sheet.

Use the Opinion Summary Report to print a list of issues and their tallies for a selected date or date range.
