Creating Position Issue Codes

IQ provides the ability to quickly and easily create position (Pro, Con or Neutral) issue codes if Automate the management of Position Based Issue Codes is selected in your System Configuration settings. Once you have created PCN codes, then you can use IQ's Issue Tally to track positions.

How to create a new position based issue code:

  1. Click Mail tab and click the Codes submenu link.

  2. Click the Issue Code link in the Table Name column.

  3. Select the Add Code action to go to the Add New Issue Code page.

  4. Type information in the ID, Translation and User fields. Note: The ID may not end with .P, .C or .N.

  5. Select the Create pro, con, and neutral versions of this code checkbox (if it is not already selected).

  6. Select the Save and Close action to save the new code and return to the Codes page.

OR

Select the Add Another action to save this code and create another one.

  1. IQ creates four codes. For example, if you typed TAX in the ID field, the base PCN code would be TAX and the three position codes would be TAX.P, TAX.C and TAX.N.

How to create position codes for existing issue codes:

  1. Click Mail tab and click the Codes submenu link.

  2. Click the Issue Code link in the Table Name column.

  3. Select the checkbox next to the issue codes that you want to create the position codes for.

  4. Select the Update Positions action. Note this action is not available when Show Positions is selected. Select the Hide Positions action to make the Update Positions action available.

  5. Click OK to mass update position codes for the selected issue codes.

  6. IQ does the following:

  1. Click OK when the message "N of N selected codes updated and X issue codes in Mail records updated." appears.
