Logging On and Off

Accessing your IQ database The data structure used to store organized information. IQ uses a relational database, which allows users to access, update, and search for information based on the relationship of data in one database to another. requires that you launch your browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome or Firefox) and log on to your office’s Web server The business end of a client/server setup. A server is usually a computer that provides the information, files, Web pages, and other services to the client that logs on to it. Common servers are Web servers, mail servers, and LAN servers. A single computer can have several different server programs running on it. with your User ID and password. Your ID and password indicate which parts of the IQ system you are authorized to use. User IDs are also used for other purposes, including identifying and tracking your work and receiving IQ alerts.

To log on to IQ:

  1. Launch your browser and go to the IQ Log On page.

  2. If your organization uses different IQ accounts and you want to log on to an account other than the one that appears in the Account field, click in the field and choose an account from the list that appears.

  3. Type your User ID and password in their respective fields. Note: If your office is configured for single sign-on, the User ID and password fields will not appear.

  4. Click the Log In button. Note: A warning message will appear if you are using Internet Explorer with Active Scripting On and IQ does not have access rights to the c:\iq folder on your workstation.

When you log on, IQ displays the My IQ page. The Systems Warnings page will appear in place of the My IQ page if you have not selected the Do not Show System Warnings at Login option in your user Preferences.  Note: You can access the My IQ page from Microsoft Outlook if you purchase the IQ Outlook Add-In and your office is configured for single sign-on. Contact your IT Consultant for more information about the Outlook Add-In.

When you have finished your work in Intranet Quorum, you should log off and then close the browser.

To log off of IQ:

  1. Close any open Record pages or Dialog Boxes.

  2. Click the Exit link located in the Utility Bar above the module tabs.

  3. Click the Yes button to close Internet Explorer or click the No button to log on again. If you click the No button, you're returned to the IQ Log On page.

Note: Your IQ connection is automatically terminated if you leave an IQ session open and inactive for 4 hours.
