Attaching Events to a Workflow

When a workflow is related to an event, you can attach the event to the workflow. This lets you link directly to the event from the workflow. There is no limit to the number of events you can attach to a workflow.

Note: IQ also provides the ability to create calendar events that inherit data from Workflow data fields. This is useful for tracking invitations in Workflow and linking associated Calendar events.  Please contact your IT Consultant for assistance in setting up the Create Calendar Event step application.

To attach an event to a workflow:

  1. Add a new workflow or access an existing workflow.

  2. Click the Events tab to go to the Events panel.

To attach an existing event, select the Attach Event action. Search for the event you want to attach; when it appears on the Search Results page, select the check box next to it and click the Attach button at the bottom of the page.

To attach a new event, select the Attach New Event action. Complete fields on the Event page and select the Save and Close action.

Once you've attached an event, information about it and a link to it appear on the Events panel. A notation indicating who attached the event and when appears on the Steps panel.

To detach an event from a workflow, select the check box next to the event on the Events panel and then select the Detach Event action. The Steps panel will show who detached the event and when.
