You can attach new or existing Workflow records to a Legislative Action to track Members’ positions or status regarding that action. For example, if your Legislative Action is to enlist co-sponsors for a bill or obtain signatures for a Dear Colleague letter, you can use Workflow Roles to track which Members have or are likely to co-sponsor or sign.
To attach a new workflow to a Legislative Action:
Search for and access the Legislative Action record.
Select the Add New Workflow action on the Action or Workflow panel.
Click a template link in the Select Template dialog box. The new workflow record appears on the Workflow panel.
Click the Workflow ID link to go to the Workflow Record page.
Enter appropriate information in fields on the Workflow Record page.
Select the Save action to save the Workflow record.
Select Return to Legislative Action to return back to the Legislative Action record.
To attach an existing workflow to a Legislative Action:
Search for and access the Legislative Action record.
Select the Attach Workflow action on the Action or Workflow panel.
Search for the workflow you want to attach to the Legislative Action by selecting an option in the Search Workflows for field, or use an Advanced Search.
Select the check box next to the workflow record(s) you want to attach and click the Attach button at the bottom of the page. Information about the workflow and a link to it appear on the Workflow panel.
You can attach as many Workflow records to a Legislative Action as you want. The workflow ID, opened date, codes, assigned, template, due date and priority of the attached workflow records appear on the Workflow panel of the Legislative Action record. Click a workflow ID link on that panel to go to the workflow record. Note that if record security is turned on and the user does not have access to the attached workflow, then "Secured Record" will appear on the Workflow panel.
To detach a workflow from a Legislative Action, select the check box next to the record(s) on the Workflow panel, select the Detach Workflow action, and click OK to confirm the action.
