Setting E-Mail Campaign Finder Rules

If your office uses the Campaign Search for pending or completed Mail or for Set records, you can set rules to automatically analyze the contents of incoming e-mail in the background. The benefit of setting rules, is that IQ stores the results of the background search in tables in your database, so that when you launch the Campaign Search from the Mail Search Results or from Sets it will take less time to find the e-mail campaigns, since the incoming e-mail has already been “read.”

How to set E-Mail Campaign Finder Rules:

  1. Click the Admin module tab and select the IMA Rules submenu link.

  2. Click the E-Mail Campaign Finder Rules link to display the Set E-Mail Campaign Defaults dialog.

  3. Select the default percentage of common language you would like IQ to search for.

  4. Select the Execution Frequency for the background e-mail pre-processor. If you select, for example, Every 10 minutes, IQ will create two background jobs every 10 minutes. One to Pre-load Recent Set Entry E-mail Message Statistics for the Campaign E-mail Finder and the other to Pre-load Recent E-mail Message Statistics for the Campaign E-mail Finder for pending Mail records. Note: The first time you run the background rules, IQ will search all of the pending Mail records and all of the e-mail Set records. Then the next time it runs, it will only search for new pending Mail records and new e-mail Set records since the last time it ran.

  5. If your office runs the Campaign Search on completed mail, then select Yes for Should campaign statistics be kept to speed up analysis of completed mail?

  6. If you do not want IQ to make and display suggestions on how to respond to campaign e-mail, then select Do not make suggestions. If you do want IQ to make and display suggestions, then select the appropriate option for just letters or letters and issue codes based on all completed campaign e-mail (in the last 30 days) or only "approved" completed e-mail. Note: The statistics for the selected option is generated by a background job called "Build Campaign Correlation Statistics" which runs once a day.

  7. If your office uses replication, then enter the name of the replication server in the Enter the name of the server to NOT run this job on field.

  8. Select the Save button to create the background jobs.

Note: The Status Log panel contains a history of actions for changes made to the e-mail campaign defaults. Information displayed includes the action date, the user who performed the action, and a description of the action.
