The Analyze Lists action provides a way to look at the results of a query based on a wide variety of data elements (such as database fields) and display them in a format such as a Bar Graph or Table. The Analyze Lists action is available on the Lists Search Results and List Record pages.
To analyze a list:
Click the module tab for the type of list you want to analyze.
Click the Lists submenu link.
Search for the list you want to analyze and select the check box next to the list or lists.
Select the Analyze Lists action. The Analyze Data dialog appears with the number of lists selected for analysis. If you selected more than one list, IQ temporarily merges the lists into one list.
Click the Submit button.
Select the field or fields from the list of Possible Fields to Analyze that you would like to include in the analysis. You can filter the list by typing part of the field name in the Filter field.
OR
You can type a field name directly into the Selected Fields to Analyze field.
IQ displays the selected data elements in the Selected Fields to Analyze field. The order of the fields determines the order of the data on the report.
Click in the Format Options field and select on of the following layouts for the report.
Bar
Graph, Bar Graph Count Only
or Bar Graph Percent Only
Columnar,
Columnar Count Only or Columnar
Percent Only
Cross-Tab
SQL Only
The Sort Options allow you to control how the Bar Graph and Columnar reports are sorted.
If you choose to sort by Count in Ascending Order or Count in Descending Order, IQ displays the Limit Values field. This allows you to limit the report to just a sub-set of the highest values (from 1 to 20). All others will be grouped in an Others column.
If you choose to sort by Data in Ascending Order or Data in Descending Order, IQ displays the Balance Values field. Select Yes to ensure that categories contain the same sub-categories, even if the count for that sub-category is zero. This option can make a report visually more appealing by making it more symmetrical.
Click the Run Report button to display the results in a new window.
Click the magnifying glass icon to display records for a specific Bar Graph or Cross Tab cell. Click the Modify Analysis link to return back to the Bar Graph or Cross Tab.
Select the Change button if you would like to return back to the Analyze Data dialog and select other fields, format or sort options.
Select the Open in Word if you would like to display the report results in Microsoft Word.
Select the Close button to close the report results.
