Processing Manual Merge Sets

Manual merge lets you view and process a list of potential duplicate records and households. As you view records in the manual merge list you can merge duplicate records and household records of individuals that have the same address. The manual merge list is generated in one of two ways:

To manually merge or household duplicate records in the manual merge list:

  1. Click the People tab and click the Manual Merge submenu link. Records in each set appear on the People Record Sets Marked for Merge/Householding page. An M or H appears in the Source column to indicate whether the records were marked for merging or householding. A lock icon appears next to secured records to indicate that it contains Record Security. Typically, secured records should be selected as the destination record when merging.

  2. On the People Record Sets Marked for Merge/Householding page, select the set(s) you want to review for merge or household.

  1. Records in each set appear on the Select Records for Householding or Select Records for Merge page.

  2. Select the record you want to be the target record (merging) or head of household (householding) by selecting the option in the Head or Target column.

To merge the records in the set, click the Merge or Merge & Next button. Click OK in response to the merge completed message after the last selected set is merged.

To household the records in the selected set, click the Household or Household & Next button. Click OK in response to the householding completed message after the last selected set is householded.

To bypass the current set and move to the next set, click the Skip button.

To exit the merge process at any time, click the Cancel button. Any sets whose records you have not merged or householded will remain in the manual merge list.

To remove a set from the manual merge list, select the set(s) and click the Delete action. Note that this action only removes the set from the Manual Merge list. It does not delete the People records from your IQ database.

 

Note: If the System Settings for "Allow deletion of People with Open or Closed Workflow records" and "Allow deletion of Agency Contacts with Open or Closed Workflow records." are set to No for your IQ system,  Manual Merge will not take place if the record(s) deleted by the merge have open or closed workflow.
