Changing a Recurring Event

You can change all, all future, or single recurring events. When you change a single (child) recurring event, use the same procedure as you would for changing a non-recurring (individually added) event. If you want to change all or all future recurring (child) events, you must change the parent record. When you save a change to the parent record, you can choose to change all associated child events or only those that have not yet occurred.

To change a parent event:

  1. Click the Calendar tab and click the Recurring Events submenu link. All recurring events scheduled for your default calendar appear.

  2. Click the Date Range link of the event you want to change.

  3. Change information about the recurring event on the Event panel or change the occurrence of the event on the Frequency panel.

  4. Select the Save and Close action to save your changes.

It is important to note that whenever you change a parent event, IQ deletes all existing child events and recreates them with the new parent information. Changes you've made to any fields in individual child events are lost when the records are deleted.

If you want to change a single recurring event, use the same procedure as you would to change a non-recurring (individually added) event. You can also access and change individual events from the recurring event record Events List panel.

Recurring Events Page

The Recurring Events page lists recurring events that have been created for the calendar you’re viewing. The events on this page are "parent" events, and each has a Recur ID. This page shows the event dates, times, recurrence information, event summary, and status. The date of the next event appears for active recurring events.

Click the date range link to edit the recurring event, delete the recurring event and all or some of the associated child events, and display the recurring event summary.
