Searching for Batches - Quick Search

There are two types of searches available for batches: a quick search lets you select criteria from a drop-down list of batch fields and combinations of fields; an advanced search lets you view and select all possible criteria on which you want to base your search. You can save your most frequently used search criteria as your default, by clicking the Make Default link. To clear the default, click the Clear Default link.

To perform a quick search for batches:

  1. Click the Mail tab and click the Batches submenu link to go to the Quick Search page for batches. The Search Letter Batches for field defaults to what is selected in your user Preferences. Click in the Search Letter Batches for field and select another criteria option if you don't want to use your default search criteria.

  2. Complete the remaining fields on the page if you want to further limit the search. The fields that appear depend on the criteria you select in the first field.

  3. Click the GO button to begin the search. The results of the search appear on the Search Results page.

If you're not satisfied with the results of your search, click the Modify Search link to modify your search or select the Advanced Search action to use more criteria in your search. You can also use the Modify Search option to add records to those already selected. If you selected records found with the first search, that selection is retained as you modify your search criteria and find and select additional records.

  1. Click the batch name link to display a list of letters in the batch.

Quick Search Criteria

A quick search lets you select from a drop-down list of fields or field combinations. Click in the Search Letter Batches for field to display available criteria selections, which include:  Active: Created Date; Active: Owner; Active: Batch Name; Active: Print Date; and Active: Method and Owner. Once you've selected one of these options, the appropriate fields appear on the page.

Note that if you're searching for an active batch based on batch name, you can use the asterisk (*) to perform a wildcard search. To search for that batch name that begins with a string of characters, type the asterisk at the end of your entry. To search for a batch name that ends with a string of characters, type the asterisk at the beginning of your entry. To find a batch with a string anywhere in its name, type an asterisk before and after the string.
