Locking and Unlocking a Batch

IQ provides the ability to lock and unlock a batch using the Lock and Unlock actions on the Batch Search Results page or Full Batch page. When a batch is locked, mail records can no longer be added to that batch. This is helpful if your office creates daily batches that are reviewed before being printed or emailed.

To lock a batch:

  1. Click the Mail tab and click the Batches submenu link to go to the Quick Search page for batches.

  2. Search for the batch you want to lock by performing a quick or advanced search.

  3. Select the check box next to the batch or batches that you want to lock.

  4. Select the Lock action and click OK to confirm the locking of the selected batches.

  5. A message box appears indicating the number of batches that were locked. Click OK to refresh and return back to the Batch Search Results page.

  6. IQ refreshes the Search Results page and displays a Y in the Locked column.

To unlock a batch:

  1. Click the Mail tab and click the Batches submenu link to go to the Quick Search page for batches.

  2. Search for the batch you want to unlock by performing a quick or advanced search.

  3. Select the check box next to the batch or batches that you want to unlock.

  4. Select the Unlock action and click OK to confirm the unlocking of the selected batches.

  5. A message box appears indicating the number of batches that were unlocked. Click OK to refresh and return back to the Batch Search Results page.

  6. IQ refreshes the Search Results page and the Y from the Locked column.

Note: The Lock and Unlock actions are also available on the Full Batch page, which contains a History section with the date, time and the user who performed the Lock or Unlock action. In addition, you can create a Mail List or Custom Report to search for or report on the lock status and date.
