Reviewing Bill Information
Market: House, Senate
Description: In IQ, you can view Bills that were introduced at either or both chambers of Congress. IQ retrieves this data daily from Congress.gov and creates individual records for each bill.
These instructions teach users how to search and view these Bills.
1.Navigate to LegiStats> Bills.
Our Bills – bills specific to an office.
House Bills – bills specific to the US House of Representatives.
Senate Bills– bills specific to the US Senate.
Recent Introductions – bills introduced within the last week.
Recent Action– status of bills that were changed within the last week.
Bills with Open Messages– bills that have associated message records that included the bill number.
All Bills– bills for both House and Senate.
Clicking any of these menu options takes you to a results page listing pre-filtered records. Each record includes in-row action buttons to attach a Legislative Action and assign a response - including a form letter specific to constituents who support the Bill and a form letter specific to constituents who oppose the Bill. Clicking a link to a Bill opens the web page for that Bill on Congress.gov.
Links to Bill records display throughout list results pages in the LegiStats module. When viewing a list results page of Members of Congress, in the expanded zone IQ displays links to Bills associated with that Member of Congress. In addition, when viewing a list results page of Votes, IQ links the associated Bill directly below the record name.
