To cancel an Auto Merge during the compile or merge process, or between those processes, you must interrupt the Auto Merge. You cannot start another Auto Merge until you interrupt or complete the current one.
To interrupt an Auto Merge:
Click the People tab and select Auto Merge on the submenu.
On the Show Last 10 AM Jobs or Show All AM Jobs page, click the ID link for the Auto Merge you want to interrupt.
Select the Interrupt/Cancel action.
Click the OK button in response to the confirmation message.
The Status column on the list of Auto Merges shows Interrupted and the heading in the AutoMerge Job Edit record page includes the words Interrupted or Canceled.
When sets are being processed (records in them are being merged and householded), each one is flagged as updated only when the entire set has been processed. If you interrupt the merge process, the set that is being processed is not flagged, and records in it are not merged or householded. When you restart the Auto Merge, the process resumes with the first uncompleted (unflagged) set and continues.
Note: If the compile or merge process is running in background, an Interrupt stops the background process. If you interrupt the merge process, some records will have been merged and householded, and others will remain unmerged and unhouseholded.
